A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Covenant Blade is a miniature (and I mean tiny), finish-in-one-sitting action game. Use the power of your sword to defeat enemies and vanquish the evil that has cursed your land for centuries.

However, beware: the great evil you have heard of so many times might not be what it seems.

Besides some sound effects, this game was entirely created by me. The art, music and font are original. Credits for sound effects are in the game's credits page.

Thanks a bunch to SheatNoisette for testing and general design advice.

Also thanks to sleepylemonbug's livestreams for motivation and comfy background (and foreground) entertainment.

And thanks to Tristan for being an amazing friend!

This is my first (hopefully of many!) fully polished project that I'm happy with, so I hope you can get some fun out of it too!

I really liked the story sequences, they looked really nice.
Loved the boss battle.
Too bad the sword throw mechanic is a bit useless, losing the sword is a big penalty just for a range attack

This is great! The movement and controls are good. Player movement is nice and quick. Everything is very snappy and responsive. The sound design adds to that. The enemy AI is also really good. My only problem with it is that it's so short! I'm looking forward to seeing what else you make in the future!

Thanks so much for playing! Once I push through this semester I can hopefully have more time to make longer games again :)

That sucks man. On my next projects I can try and work with GLES2 and see how it turns out, since it's compatible with older computers. Thanks for the feedback anyway!

will there be a number two????

Honestly I have no idea. Right now I'm working on some other games, but I might remake a better (longer) version of this in the future. Emphasis on the might.

Really solid playthrough! Thanks for sharing :)

This is the best game I have played so far!! Love the graphics and game idea. However, I would be glad if you made a "taking damage" animation for the boss, because I can't tell if the boss is taking damage from my hits. Thank you!!

Hey thanks! The boss only takes damage after you hit him with a deflected fireball, so otherwise he's not actually taking damage (which is why there's no animation)

this is the best game i have played yet. Good graphics and more

Even a small game can be fantastic, I'm impressed

Thanks so much! That means a lot.

it does suck that when you go back into a room you have to fight the enemy's all over again and if you accidentally walk back into the room you just came out of it can get annoying.

You're right, I thought long and hard about this kind of problem, and didn't really find a solution that I liked. That's why you can't go back from some areas, but obviously I couldn't do that everywhere as backtracking is necessary at some points. Thanks for the feedback!

Really cool Game The boss fight was really fun and the feel of the game was really good

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you had fun with the boss, it was fun to make too :)

https://www.twitch.tv/mobiusx001 I made a video of your game :V check it out maifren :V

Awesome, thanks! I loved your playthrough, especially the epic voice when reading the cutscenes, and how you called the enemies "coronavirus" LOL

Thanks a bunch!

I love the story behind the game! will there be updates?

Thanks so much! This was made as a small game, just so that I could focus on finishing and polishing. Honestly, the code is kind of messy in some parts. I don't wanna make promises, but if I develop the story a bit more and people wanna see more, I might partly remake the game cleaner and add more levels/bosses etc.

You should, the potential of the gameplay totaly worth more levels. I loved the end. Very good ambiance.

Thanks! :)
